Synopsis
After the events of “Batman” (2022), Oz Cobb, aka The Penguin, tries to seize the reins of the underworld in Gotham. With the exception of the bat signal in the last frame of the season finale, we never saw Robert Pattinson’s cameo in The Penguin. Colin Farrell fought hard for his version of the Penguin to smoke tobacco in Batman (2022), but to no avail. However, in his own series, the character is depicted as a casual tobacco smoker who prefers cigars.

especially when I think he looks like some other famous people actors. I also didn’t really understand why this spin-off was needed, and to be honest, Batman reboots make me sick. But after the first episode, I can confirm that this show is amazing (so far). I watched it only because I knew it was necessary to watch it as a bridge between the first and second films, as well as my unexpected enjoyment of Farrell in the first film.
But I did not expect that I would like it so much
The acting is great, the script is great, and I was surprised by some of the quick turns. Most of all, I liked the fact that there was much more color in it than in “Batman”. I noticed this almost immediately, because for me it was a huge complaint about the film (it felt like I was watching it through the lens of Zack Snyder). I hope it continues to be as good because I really can’t wait for the next episode.
